the

Hour

In 2010 I decided to walk into Best Buy and pickup my first camera, a Canon T3i. I was so excited! I took it out of the box, switched it to Auto and was let down when my photos didn't look like magazine material. I reached out to a professional photographer in my area  and asked for help and was met with short snarky remarks that had me feeling like no would ever share "their secrets". I became determined to learn how to shoot and edit in a style that I could be proud of.

Along the way I went through waves of insecurity, comparing myself and questioning whether I should keep trying. In 2016 I left my 8-5 job and pursued photography full-time and haven't looked back.

My hope is that through my podcast, free resources and newsletter you can find the tools to help you grow your business, connect with your clients and hopefully share the things you've learned with others!

Sharing with you the things i wished
 someone shared with me!

If you would have told me years ago I would be a full-time wedding photographer, I wouldn't have believed you. I always thought my photography would never amount to anything more than a hobby.

So I did what society tells you to do, I got my Bachelors Degree in Counseling and planned to work a 9-5 until I was finally about to retire. But my plans changed when I was sitting at my desk in a beautiful office and realized I was empty. I was wasting my time daily working for another organization when it hit me that I could be investing in my brand instead. When I decided to take the leap, I was terrified. What if I never made enough money? What if I lost everything? But then I thought, what if I didn't? What if I succeeded and what if I never tried?

About

When I put in my two weeks I was offered a company car and a new position and I politely declined. Saying goodbye was the best journey I ever took.

My first year I made more than my salary and though it hasn't always been a walk in the park, I have learned so much from running my business and I am so honored to be able to share what I know with others.
